Immune Boosting Honey
For those that have known me for years, know that I have been one to get sick fairly quickly. I would miss days from school due to having consistent colds. One could hear me breathing from a mild away, and lets not forget about the wheezing as my asthma did not allow me to play like the others.
My mother would rub me up with her Vick’s concoction in addition to her holistic Guyanese remedies; most of which I still use till this day. I am so grateful that it has been passed on so that I can use it with my children to come. Although I have been blessed to have these remedies, I am a holistic girlie, so it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t add to the holistic bag of goodies!
Let’s take a deeper dive!
That said, I wanted to share this Immune Boosting Honey with you to try this cold season!
Immunity honey is a natural blend of raw honey infused with immune-boosting ingredients such as ginger, turmeric, garlic, lemon, or various herbs and spices. These additional components enhance honey's already impressive health benefits, creating a powerhouse remedy for overall wellness.
I made some last weekend and let it sit for a week before taking a spoonful! Also, I get my honey specifically sourced from a small business who makes them right in their own back yard! ( Support Small Businesses) Check out the full recipe below!
Immune Boosting Recipe
What you’ll need: Honey, Garlic, Lemon, Ginger and a Red Onion, Turmeric
Instructions: Prepare your ingredients by slicing everything up and combining them into a jar. ( I use a small mason jar for mine) Mix your ingredients well and let it sit for 3-5 days so that it can soak in.
Once your honey is ready, take a spoonful daily for immune support, stir it into warm water or tea, or drizzle over toast or yogurt.
Keep the immunity honey in a sealed jar at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
Make this whenever you need some immune boosting support! It’s quick, easy and great for the family!
