Meditation & Consistency

Meditation and I have had its tug-o-war issues for most of my life. I’d be full force into it for a week straight and then I’d forget one day and lose track for the rest of the month. It’s sort of like trying to be consistent with your work out regimen. If you don’t make it a consistent practice, you’ll lose focus of your initial goal. It’s funny because it’s easy to remember to watch your favorite show once a new season hits, or pick up your phone to get on social media everyday. But once it comes down to staying focused on things that will better us, we tend to fall short sometimes.

This is not because we don’t care, it’s not that we are incapable, we just simply need to make consistency and discipline a practice but also show ourselves the utmost love and respect when we do realize that we have not been on our ish.

It is the awareness that will bring that moment of grace to us and allow us to go forth with our daily human experiences with ease! One of the worst things we can do is cause self harm by being to hard on ourselves.

WHy Meditate Anyway?

Meditation can increase awareness, reduce anxiety and eliminate negative thoughts which has all also been proven after years of research.

Many of us dive right into our phones or rush to work as soon as we awaken without giving ourselves time for self. This can be draining because you haven’t given yourself time to pour into yourself.

To keep matters short, If you haven’t started, I encourage you to devote at least 5 minutes of the start of your day to yourself in meditation simply because you deserve it!
